In a\u00a0big<\/span>\u00a0move<\/span>\u00a0for\u00a0education<\/span>\u00a0rights<\/span> in Pakistan, the Sindh High Court has decided that private schools must give free education to at least 10% of their students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now<\/span>, all\u00a0private<\/span>\u00a0schools<\/span>\u00a0in Sindh must\u00a0set<\/span>\u00a0aside<\/span>\u00a010% of their\u00a0student<\/span>\u00a0spots<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0offer<\/span>\u00a0them for\u00a0free<\/span>, without any\u00a0fees<\/span>.<\/span>
\nThe\u00a0provincial<\/span>\u00a0government<\/span>\u00a0and the Directorate of Private Institutions have been\u00a0told<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0make<\/span>\u00a0sure<\/span>\u00a0this\u00a0rule<\/span>\u00a0is\u00a0followed<\/span>\u00a0strictly<\/span>\u00a0by all\u00a0schools<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Schools<\/span>\u00a0must\u00a0provide<\/span>\u00a0proof<\/span>\u00a0that they are\u00a0actually<\/span>\u00a0offering<\/span>\u00a0these\u00a0free<\/span>\u00a0seats<\/span>.<\/span>
\nIf they don’t\u00a0follow<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0rule<\/span>, there could be\u00a0serious<\/span>\u00a0consequences<\/span>,\u00a0including<\/span>\u00a0legal<\/span>\u00a0action<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0penalties<\/span>\u00a0for the\u00a0schools<\/span>\u00a0and the\u00a0people<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0charge<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This\u00a0ruling<\/span>\u00a0supports<\/span>\u00a0larger<\/span>\u00a0goals<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0ensure<\/span>\u00a0every\u00a0child<\/span>\u00a0gets<\/span>\u00a0free<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0compulsory<\/span>\u00a0education<\/span>.<\/span>
\nIt\u00a0helps<\/span>\u00a0make<\/span>\u00a0education<\/span>\u00a0more<\/span>\u00a0fair<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0reduces<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0cost<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0schooling<\/span>\u00a0for\u00a0families<\/span>.<\/span>
