About the University
Established in 1864, Government College University is one of the few oldest and at present perhaps the most respected institutions in South Asia. At Katchery Road, Anarkali, in the old city of Lahore, not far from where Pakistan Resolution had been adopted stands its imposing gothic buildings and its Clock Towe. Furthermore, the university has a contemporary 392-acre Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) campus, providing state-of-the-art facilities with serene atmosphere conducive to learnings.
Approved by the HEC and accredited by PEC for EE, GCU Lahore enjoys a good international ranking in QS and Times Higher Education 2026.
The university comprises 32 academic departments and five faculties, teaching and research are tort in science, engineering, arts, social science and languages. It is the only university of Pakistan that produced two Nobel laureates: Abdus Salam and Har Gobind Khorana.
